School Advisory Council Meeting
Tuesday, November 16th, 2004

1.0 Opening Remarks and Role Call
1.1 The meeting was called to order at 6:00pm by Nancy Lane
1.2 The role call was as follows:

2.0Review/Approval of Agenda
Approval was moved by Shirley seconded by Catherine, carried
3.0 Review/Approval of Minutes of Meeting – October 19, 2004
Motion to be approved by Shirley Sayeau seconded by Susan Rabb
3.1 Business Arising from Minutes
3.1.1 Emergency Evacuation Issue- letter from Brian Sommerville. It will be forwarded later this month.
4.0 Correspondence
4.1 The nutrition for kids newsletter was passed out. Our students have many programs like this and is available for students who require it.
4.2 Transportation Message was handed out and will be sent out with the next newsletter
5.0 Reports
6.0 New Business
6.1 Acceptance forms were passed out and will be returned
6.2 School Profile Report was handed out and will be reviewed by the council and approved at next month’s meeting
6.3 M.S.I.P Procedures – this will be forwarded to the January meeting and it will be discussed in detail there.
6.4 Track Fund – Elaine approached the plantmanager Kirk Irving at Perelli at a local business andhe is interested in sponsoring a track for the high school. He will require a letter from the school to make the company aware of the necessity of this initiative.
7.0 Month in Review
7.1 LGASSA Volleyball and Basketball is going on and the school has been very busy. Report card will come out next Tuesday with the newsletter. Jerry Clark came in to do a special education survey and was very impressed. Ms. Morelle was hired to replace Mr. Campbell and a new teacher is being found to replace Ms.Gilmore for the home based program as she is on maternity leaves.
8.0 Student Report
8.1 Month in Review – Celebrity Dance on Thursday 6-10pm, No Stratford trip this year

The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 pm by Ted White motioned by Shirley and seconded by Susan and the next meeting will be held Tuesday January 18thin Student services at 6:00pm
