Day One: Clouds, Rocks, and Shopping

In just a few days, school will begin for us yet again.

Enter: The Clouds of Doom

The first day of class is an ominous cloud raining torrents of taxing toil upon rusty minds. Actually, this is but a deceiving drapery. Blossoming brains behold a brilliance that only intelligence might inspire. But this a path that demands some initial paving.

Before you return to class, go shopping and buy yourself nice clothing. Feel good about how you look in your outfits, and look forward to wearing it on Day One. Anticipate the envy of strangers and the adoration of your friends.

Faster Than an Eroding Rock

Most loving parents want their kids to have an enjoyable time at school with periods inundated with excitement. Although this is usually the case, a rock sometimes erodes sooner than time grinds away. If stones are vanishing before your eyes, become immersed in the class activity. Not only will you become wiser, but you will find that the seconds seem swifter.

Being unprepared is also well-suited for hastening time. Forgetting your locker combination, book, or pencil can leave you chasing these things and losing a race against the clock. Though this adrenaline rush may seem like a good way to wake up to the day, you should know that on Day One you’ll have plenty of blood-pumping situations to deal with. Disorganization should best be avoided.

Your Mind is Clouded, Padawan

Organize your mind. Know what you want to get from school and demand it from yourself and your education. Maybe you look forward to clubs or sports. Maybe you’re looking for great academic success. Whatever you’re looking for, devise a plan and anticipate the rewards.

Summary

Look at your first day of school as an eye-opener of what is possible. The paperwork may be slim (aside from filling-out those redundant Student Information Forms), but the mental juggling will be your biggest challenge. Figure out what your ambitions are, and a warm, cuddly future will be in your arms.
