History How The Mill Works
Restoration

Although the mill was abandoned for just over 20 years, time took its toll. The weir (dam), raceway and overall structure of the mill were in serious need of repair. Most funding needed to facilitate these necessary repairs was provided through private donations which enabled the foundation to put a new roof on the mill and the South Nation Conservation contributed $25,000 toward rebuilding the weir. New foundations were constructed. Masonry work and landscaping are on going.

A generous donation will make the restoration of the water turbine possible in 2004. Visitors will again enjoy the sound of water moving through the mill. The long term goal is to have more mill machinery moving

NEED TO ADD washrooms, an easy access ramp, well drilled and connection to sewer system.

With labour costs donated the Foundation was able to have restoration windows constructed. The glazing and painting is a work in progress with funds being sought for their final installation.
